GCSE, A - Level, IELTs Tuition

I offer personalised one to one tuition to help you to achieve your goals. I have a excellent record of success with students at GCSE and A Level getting them through their barriers to learning success. For some students, this can be issues with content, for others it can be understanding where to expand their ideas. Most commonly, it is that students have become demotivated because they need a little support or they are not quite achieving in line with expectations. I work with students in ways that suit them through building confidence in themselves. I can help provide support methods and study advice as well as teaching exam techniques and ways to help themselves at home and in the classroom. Content of lessons is built around their needs and is designed to help them develop their knowledge and understanding. I work with students at all levels of CEFR for IELTs. If you haven't recently taken an exam, I will ask you to do a quick assessment so I can plan lessons to help you improve. I am happy to work across all skills or to focus on the areas for improvement. Students can book in for long or short term blocks of lessons, or even a one off!. If you would like regular lessons, then I will happily reserve a regular time slot, and take that out of the booking systems. School holidays are by agreement, and I am sure that every understands that from Easter, exam year students get priority booking. If you are looking to improve in your GCSE texts and exams, then you could also check out my online classes - these are small groups which focus on Literature Texts and exam questions.

I offer one to one support in any subject - after all that is your area of expertise! - as long as you need help with creating a written assessment. (But yes, you can pick my brain about Literature and Applied Linguistics!) I have experience of working in several Russell Group universities as an Academic Skills tutor and can work with you on: Understanding Assignments Content and Organisation of Assignments Referencing and Citation Creating a valid argument Presentation Skills Research Skills Paraphrasing and Summary Improving writing skills I provide follow up comments on improving your work, and if allowable by your institution, I can proof read your work to help with grammatical, language, SPaG and clarity issues. Please contact me directly for rates, as they are variable dependent on assignment length and meeting requirements.

GCSE Workshops - Online

Language and Literature

Each week, I offer online workshops in GCSE subjects. These sessions are for up to eight students focusing on an aspect of GCSE key skills and content in language and literature. They cover AQA Language Papers, Shakespeare, 19th Century Literature, Post 1945 and Poetry. The literature lessons will have a particular focus e.g. "Supernatural in Macbeth," "The Importance of Family in A Christmas Carol," or "Storm on the Island." Students will be able to practice writing and receive feedback. Come as a one off revision session, or come to every session for help with your revision. Please understand that my time is my product. I have to ask that there is no screen sharing, unless by prior agreement and additional charges will be incurred. All students are strictly camera on. Payment is made at time of booking and not refundable in order to protect the integrity of my lessons and in fairness to my students. I also retain the right to remove students from the lesson at my own discretion.
